No test centre set up in Kashmir for AIIMS New Delhi UG aspirants

Authorities at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi have not set up any centre in Kashmir for the aspirants set to appear in the tests for the under-graduate courses.

The undergraduate exams are scheduled to be conducted on May26.

   

Earlier, the aspirants of PG courses at AIIMS had sought theintervention of the governor-led administration after no test centres were setup in the valley.

“The authorities conducting AIIMS undergraduate entranceexam have not set up exam centre in Srinagar. It is not possible for thecandidates to travel to Jammu for appearing in the exams,” said Imtiyaz Qazi,an aspirant of AIIMS UG exams.

Over the years, the exam conducting bodies of national levelcompetitive exams have ignored valley in allotment of exam centres causinginconvenience to the aspirants.

Earlier in February a batch of 500 students missed GATE-2019exams as no centre was allotted in Kashmir for the first phase of the exams(GATE). Later, six centres were set up in valley to enable students forappearing the exams within valley.

“This trend should end once and for all.  Kashmir should not be excluded in allotmentof exam centres in national level competitive exams,” said an aspirant.
