Not too late to flatten Covid-19 curve: Omar

In the wake of surge in coronavirus cases, former J&K Chief Minister and National Conference vice-president, Omar Abdullah on Saturday said it was not too late to “flatten the curve” and urged the people to follow the guidelines and disclose travel history to the authorities. Omar took to Twitter minutes after discovery of seven more Covid-19 positive in case in valley.

“The number of positive #COVID-19 cases in J&K is goingup but it’s not too late to #FlattenTheCurve. All we have to do is follow theguidelines to maintain #SocialDistanacing & #StayAtHomeAndStaySafe. Pleasedisclose your travel history & contacts to the authorities,” Omar tweeted.In his tweets after his release, many are finding “solace in humour” during thethree-week lockdown in India. On Saturday, he shared a meme on twitter sayingthat barbers should be included in essential services to help those underquarantine. “Govt should add barbers in essential services list, otherwiseafter quarrantine there will b umer abdullah in every house (sic),” the memeshared by Omar said. The meme has a picture of the former chief minister withhis long beard and also a picture of the tik tok that mimics Omar. He had alsooffered tips to survive the 21-day coronavirus quarantine based on hisexperience. “Firstly establish a routine & try to stick to it. In all themonths I was in HNSJ (Hari Niwas Sub-Jail) I stuck to a routine as though itwere carved in stone. The routine gave me a sense of purpose & stopped mefeeling aimless or lost.”

   

He also recommended going to sleep, waking up and eatingmeals at a fixed time, adding one should not spend their entire day in theirnight suit.
