Notorious drug peddler held in north Kashmir’s Sopore, banned drugs seized

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a notorious drug peddler on the outskirts of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An official said a police team signalled a motorcyclist tostop at a naka set up at Achabal crossing in Sopore.

   

He said the motorcyclist was apprehended while two pillionriders managed to escape from the spot.

3000 Spasmoproxivan capsules were recovered from thepossession of the motorcyclist identified as Muhammad Safi Lone of NadihalRafiabad, said the official.

He said the trio were carrying capsules with the aim ofdistributing them among the youth in Sopore town.

An FIR No 112/019 under sections 8/22 NDPS has been lodgedat police station Sopore and a manhunt has been launched to nab the other twopersons who were identified as Arshid Farooq Lone of Saidpora Rafiabad andMuzafar Ahmad Shah alias Nund Shah of Adipora Sopore.
