We stand by our news report and make it clear that we are in possession of the audio clip of the particular conversation between our editor and Omar Abdullah.
Standing by its report in which National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah had accused PDP of fielding “illiterates” as its candidates for Rajya Sabha polls, local news gathering agency KNS Friday said it is ready to provide recorded audio conversation with Omar in this regard.
Pertinently, NC spokesman Junaid Azim Mattu had denied the remarks made by Omar.
“KNS had carried the particular story while quoting the former Chief Minster and NC working president Omar Abdullah’s telephonic conversation with our editor on Tuesday. However, unfortunately the NC spokesman has reportedly denied the remarks made by Omar, saying, he (Omar) was ‘misquoted’ in the story which prompted us respond to the allegations made by the spokesman,” a statement issued by KNS said.
“We stand by our news report and make it clear that we are in possession of the audio clip of the particular conversation between our editor and Omar Abdullah. If NC spokesman or anyone else has a doubt about the contents of the story, he/she is welcome to contact our office and collect the audio conversation in which Omar Abdullah clearly and categorically says that PDP has fielded two ‘illiterates’ as its candidates for Rajya Sabha and questioned how they can represent the state in the Upper House of Parliament,” it added.
