On JRL call, pro-freedom leaders, activists stage protest against ‘pathetic’ plight of prisoners

Activists and leaders of various pro-freedom parties on Friday staged a protest here against the plight of prisoners languishing in different jails in and outside the state. The call for the protests was given by Kashmir’s Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

Participants including Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, Muhammad Rafiq Uwasi, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Abdul Rasheed Untoo, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Bilal Sidiqui, Jaffar Kashmiri, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Prof Javed,  Mushtaq Ajmal, Muhammad Yaseen Aataie, Syed Muhammad Shafi, Ghulam Nabi Najar, Muhammad Sidiq Guroo, Abdul Majeed Wani, Khawaja Firdous, Mubashir Iqbal, Abdul Hameed Wani, Javed Ahmad Bhat, Arshid Hussain Bhat, Javeed Ahmad Zargar, Muhammad Shafi Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Maqbool Maghami, Abdul Rashid Lone and others participated in the protest. They urged the international organisations to come for the rescue of the Kashmiri prisoners, who are languishing in various jails for demanding their legitimate right.
