The death toll of civilians in Kulgam clash has mounted to six as one more civilian succumbed at SKIMS Soura in Srinagar on Sunday.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr Farooq Jan said an injured person brought from Kulgam was declared dead on arrival.
Earlier, two injured civilians who were brought to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital from Kulgam succumbed at the facility.
Also, three civilians injured in Kulgam were declared dead on arrival at district hospital Kulgam.
Three militants were also killed in the five-hour-long gunfight that broke out today morning.
All of them, according to an official, were locals and affiliated with Jaish-e-Muhammad. He identified them as Shahid ul Islam Tantray of Wangam Shopian, Yazil Makroo of Arwani Bijbehara and Zubair Lone of Ahwatoo Kulgam.
Meanwhile, Joint Resistance Leadership has called for shutdown tomorrow against the killings.
