Over 38 per cent polling in Udhampur, Srinagar LS seats till 3 pm

Jammu and Kashmir recorded nearly 38 per cent polling till 3 pm in Udhampur and Srinagar Lok Sabha constituencies, a poll official said.

Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency recorded 58.13 percentpolling, with Kathua district registering the highest of 64.6 percent pollingtill 3 pm, he said.

   

Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency recorded 12.4 per centpolling, with highest 17.1 per cent polling recorded in Budgam district till 3pm.

Voting began on a peaceful note Thursday in two Lok Sabhaconstituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, with voters in border district of Kathuaand Udhampur turning up early morning to exercise their franchise, officialssaid.

Over 29.81 lakh voters are eligible to decide the fate of 24candidates, including former Chief Minister and NC chief Dr Farooq Abdullah andUnion Minister Dr Jitendra Singh contesting for Srinagar and UdhampurParliamentary seats.
