Over a dozen youth injured in violent protests over Bandipora minor’s rape, one critical

Over a dozen persons were injured, one of them critically,in violent protests in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district onMonday over the rape of a three-year-old girl in Sumbal area of Bandipora lastweek.

Reports said that massive protests erupted in Chenbal areaof Pattan today morning with youth clashing with the security forces.

   

They said that the forces resorting to tear gas shellingafter the protesters pelted them with stones, resulting in injuries to over 12youth.

One among them, identified as Arshid Ahmad Dar, was hit by atear gas shell in his head following which he was rushed to Srinagar incritical condition.

Massive protests erupted in Kashmir valley today against thealleged rape of the minor girl on May 08.

Peoples Conference (PC) chairman Sajad Gani Lone alsocondemned the use of forces against the protesters.

“Use of pellets against protestors protesting the rape of a3 year old girl goes against all norms. Has the J K Police forgotten non Lethalcrowd control. Heaven’s sake. Understand there is anger and anger in such acase is normal,” Lone said in a tweet.
