Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani, in his message from Delhi today, thanked the National Assembly of Pakistan for unanimously passing a resolution, supporting the Kashmiris’ freedom movement. He appealed to the Imams and religious scholars of Kashmir to offer special prayers on Friday for peace, stability and progress of Pakistan and thank the government and the people of the country for extending moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people.
Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement today, termed the Pakistan’s unflinching support for the Kashmir cause on moral, political and diplomatic levels as historic, saying that Islamabad played an important role in raising the Kashmir dispute at international forums like the United Nations and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
“The passing of a resolution by Pakistan parliament favouring Kashmiris’ right to self-determination reflected Islamabad’s longstanding stand on Kashmir dispute. Hurriyat is in favour of friendly relations between Pakistan and India on equality basis for finding out a reasonable solution to the Kashmir dispute through talks between the two countries,” Mirwaiz said, advocating participation of true representatives of the Kashmiri people in any talks between Islamabad and New Delhi on Kashmir.
Hurriyat Conference (HCJK) leader and Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman, Shah in his telephonic address to various gatherings and conferences organized in connection with “Kashmir Solidarity Day” in Pakistan, expressed deep gratitude to the Government of Pakistan, its people, social, political, religious and student organizations for their unrelenting support and endeavours with regard to resolution of Kashmir issue.
“On the occasion, Shah, in his address through the medium of various communication channels, thanked the Government of Pakistan for its continuous political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmir cause,” said a spokesman of Party in a statement today.
