A panchayat member Abdul Majeed Dar who was shot at by gunmen in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday evening succumbed to his injuries at a Srinagar hospital last night.
Dar was formerly associated with the People’s DemocraticParty. Majeed was elected as Panch unopposed.
A police official said that a case has been registered andinvestigations taken up into the killing.
TARIGAMI CONDEMNS KILLING
Strongly condemning the killing of Abdul Majeed Dar, apolitical worker by unknown gunmen at Shalipora, Kulgam, CPI(M) leader MohamadYousuf Tarigami has termed the incident as heinous, which should be condemnedby one and all. He said violence in any form is condemnable.
Expressing sympathies with the bereaved family, the CPI(M)leader has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the victim family.
