Bani, Mar 30: Reiterating his Government’s resolve to open up remote and hilly areas for economic development, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Tuesday said that dependable road communication was imperative to achieve this goal.
 Addressing public at Machhadi and Bani in Kathua, he said holistic development of these areas was in focus. “Government has brought all far-off areas with a population of 100 households under the ambit of PMGSY to ensure construction of roads”, he said.
 On NREGA, he said job cards should be provided to the beneficiaries in time adding it could prove useful for building inner roads in the hinterland besides providing jobs.
 He urged people to participate in the ensuing Panchayat elections.
 Chief Minister the Government provided jobs to over 21,000 youth in last 15 months. “We have also addressed the unemployment crises through the launch of SKEWPY”, he said.
