The Government on Wednesday constituted a panel for regularinspection of poultry dressing units to put an end to menace of unhygienicdressed meat.
To be headed by commissioner, food safety, J&K the eight-membercommittee has been empowered to inspect facilities of poultry dressing unitsand verify processing capacity and mode of disposal of final products.
The committee would be interacting with farmers to verifyallegations that poultry dressing unit holders are selling live birds in themarket after exemption of tax, and collect details of dressed poultry meatimported to randomly check hygiene of this meat.
