Parents demand evacuation of students from Bangladesh

The parents of several students who are stuck at a medical college in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, on Sunday demanded evacuation of their kids, saying their health was at risk in view of Covid-19 pandemic.

“Around 72 Kashmiri girls are stuck in a medical collegeDhaka, Bangladesh. The teachers have left from the college including the hostelwarden,” a female parent told Greater Kashmir.

   

She said with no staff available in the college, thestudents are forced to visit the market to fetch eatables for them. “On onehand they are asked to remain in quarantine but on the other they are forced tomove outside to purchase daily necessities,” she said.

The parents urged the J&K administration to get thesestudents evacuated from the college keeping in view their safety and health.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah hadsought the intervention of External Affairs Minister (EAM), Dr. S Jaishankar toassist the Kashmiri students stuck in Bangladesh.

“Requesting @DrSJaishankar to kindly intervene with theGovernment of Bangladesh to assist these Kashmiri students as best possible,”Omar Abdullah had tweeted few days ago.
