Pattan youth’s killing highly condemnable: Mehbooba

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Thursday expressed grief and sorrow over the killing of 23-year old Arshad Ahmad Dar of Pattan, terming his killing tragic and highly condemnable.

Dar, who was critically injured during clashes at Chenabalarea of Pattan on Srinagar-Baramulla Highway succumbed at SKIMS here lateWednesday evening. He was undergoing treatment in the hospital since Monday.

   

Mehbooba expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.

Asking the government to speed up the probe in Bandiporaalleged rape case, Mehbooba, in a statement said, “It is the only way to clearany misgivings in people’s minds and restore normalcy.”

“We appeal to the people not to go adrift at any cost and donot allow divisive elements to succeed in their nefarious plans to create animositybetween people on sectarian and communal lines,” Mehbooba said.

Meanwhile, the PDP President has also expressed grief overthe demise of Irfan Ahmad of Zainapora, Shopian.

“On May 8, unknown gunmen barged inside a chemist shop andfired upon Irfan Ahmad and Muzafar Ahmad. In the incident, the duo sufferedcritical injuries. Irfan succumbed to his injuries last night,” the statementstated.

Mehbooba prayed for the departed soul and expressedsolidarity with the bereaved family.
