Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), Dr Mohit Gera Saturday visited South Kashmir to inspect various demarcation works carried out during the previous financial year under various schemes in Lidder and Anantnag Forest Division.
He laid emphasis on perfect survey and delineation while carrying such works so that forest boundaries are well identified to ensure that no forest land is encroached.
Gera also stressed for well protection of the boundary pillars by concerned territorial staff after they are erected by the Demarcation Division.
Later PCCF visited Nagdandi Forest Nursery established by Forest Deptt and directed the concerned for raising of more Fir seedlings, in view of the fact that natural regeneration of Fir has been a problem throughout the Himalayas.
The PCCF also paid a visit to Forest Complex Anantnag and inspected the construction works of the Division Office.
On the occasion, he was accompanied by Conservator of Forests Kashmir, South Circle Bijbehara, DFO Lidder, DFO Anantnag and DFO Demarcation Division.
