PDD engineers to go on strike from Aug 6

The engineers working with Power Development department will be going on a pen down from August 6, in a bid to press for their long pending demands.

The engineers said, “The strike, under the banner of J&KState Joint Action Committee of graduate engineers (JKSJAC), is being held incontinuation of protest held on 16 July, 2019, across the state in view of thenon-serious attitude of the government in resolving our long pending issues.”

   

“We have decided to go on a pen down, tool down strike on 6and 7 August in all the three divisions. In the Valley, the engineers willassemble in PWD engineering complex Rajbagh, from where a peaceful rally willmove towards the civil secretariat,” Pirzadah Hidiyatullah, Chairman JKSJAC,said.

“Our demands include Assured Career Progression,regularisation at all levels, classification of SRO 42, enhancement of FTA andlocal figures for site engineers,” he said.
