Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegation met Governor NN Vohra on Thursday and expressed concern over Article 35-A which is being challenged in Supreme Court.
In a statement, party’s chief spokesperson Rafi Ahmad Mir said delegation comprising Abdul Rahman Veeri, Mehboob Beg, Nizam-ud-din Bhat, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Mohammad Khalil Bandh, Mohammad Ashraf Mir and Zahoor Ahmad met Governor at Raj Bhavan.
“The delegation highlighted need to defend Article 35-A in the Supreme Court (SC) with the same seriousness as was exhibited by the PDP, when it was part of the government,” he said.
The delegation expressed hope that Governor will take similar measures to defend state’s special position in SC, he said
He added that delegation also pitched for pacing of developmental works in the state and also confirmation of services of youth engaged as “facilitators” in Tourism and Floriculture department with Governor.
