Senior PDP leader Nizamuddin Bhat has demanded immediate assessment of losses caused to orchards, vegetable fields and saplings in Bandipora by the sudden and intense hailstorm.
Expressing sympathieswith the victim farmers and orchard owners, Bhat in a statement said the damageis widespread in Sumlar, Shokhbaba, Chuntimulla, Arin and whole Khuihama beltof Bandipora.
He said that since the farmers and other affected peoplecompletely depend on the agriculture and horticulture, “they need timely supportfor their survival”. Bhat hoped that theGovernor administration will be “generous” to the affected farmers in view oftheir pathetic condition.
