People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed pain and worry over the damage caused to crops in central Kashmir’s Budgam area due to the recent hailstorm.
PDP General Secretary Ghulam Nahi Lone Hanjura said thereare scores of areas in Char-e-Sharief where hailstorm wreaked havoc with thecrops and caused extensive damage to orchards.
“Large scale damage has been caused to trees in Batpora,Gogji Pathri, Ladhen, Branwar, Surasyar, Nowhar and several other areas ofBudgam,” Hanjura in a statement said.
He said the farmers affected by the hailstorms should begiven proper compensation without delay “as they are passing through adifficult financial condition”.
