Peaceful atmosphere in J&K our prime concern: DGP

Director General of Police Dilbag Singh today said that peaceful atmosphere in J&K is prime concern of police.

“Continuous vigil needs to be maintained to curb theactivities of anti-national elements and criminals to ensure peacefulatmosphere in the State,” said DGP who was on a day long visit to NorthKashmir chairing meetings of officers of Bandipora, Baramulla and Sopore.

   

The DGP, who was accompanied by IGP Kashmir, S.P Pani andDIG, North Kashmir Range, MuhammadSulemanChoudhary, reviewed security scenario in these districts.During his visit the DGP chaired officers meeting at district PoliceHeadquarters Bandipora and Baramulla. The officers briefed the DGP regardingthe security scenario in their respective jurisdictions.

“Jammu and Kashmir Police from last three decades hasbeen fighting the challenge of terrorism with utmost courage, ensuring securityand safety of the public. Peaceful atmosphere and security of the people is ourprime concern,” the DGP said.

“Continuous vigil needs to be maintained and support ofpeople must be ensured to curb the activities of anti-national elements andcriminals. Strict action against the people involved in drug trade should betaken,” he said.

He directed the officers to take strict action against therumour mongers, who try to create fear among people.

The meeting at Bandipora was attended by SSP Bandipora  Rahul Malik, Dy.SP Headquarters, BandiporaMir MurtazaHussain, SDPO Sumbal, SaqibGani, Dy.SP PC, HajanMubashirRasool and Dy.SP DAR Abdul RashidKhan, In Baramulla the meeting was attended by SSP Baramulla  Abdul Qayoom, SSP SoporeJavaid Iqbal, DySPHeadquarters Baramulla  Syed JavaidAhmad, SDPO PattanMashkoorAhmmad, SDPO KreeriRamiz Raja, SDPO Uri Mehraj-u-Din,SDPO Tangmarg, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Dy.SP PC, Baramulla, ZahoorIrshad Ahmad and Dy.SPDAR, Baramulla, Zahoor Ahmad.
