Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) general secretary Nahida Nasreen today strongly condemned the “atrocities” being inflicted upon people of Kashmir allegedly by the government forces to “muzzle their voice for freedom.”
“Kashmiris are facing human rights violations and oppression on daily basis and such things will continue until Kashmiris are given their right to self-determination. Oppression, human rights violations are sub issues that can stop only when forces leave Kashmir,” Nasreen, in a statement today, said, adding that “The only solution to the long-pending dispute is its merger with Pakistan.
“On August 14, 1947 the sub-continent was divided on the basis of two nation theory and it was decided the Kashmir will be a part of Pakistan. But it didn’t happen. Then on October 27, India entered Kashmir and took control of this land. Thus, this day marks the beginning of Kashmir issue and forced control,” Nasreen said.
