People fighting BJP, its cronies to protect Article 370, Article 35A: NC

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference provincial spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar on Monday addressed a series of public meetings in Kulgam constituency seeking vote and support for party’s candidate for Anantnag parliamentary constituency Retd Justice Hassnain Masoodi.

Addressing a workers meet Dar said: “the ensuing electionsare significant as we are fighting for special constitutional status of ourstate. Today we have a situation when BJP and its cronies are contriving todismantle the constitutional provisions of our state. However NationalConference has always showed steadfastness in protecting the state’s specialstatus”.

   

He said that the NC has been giving immense sacrifices forthe protection of state’s plural character, integrity and identity.  “In the future also we will leave no stoneunturned to trounce the machinations of such forces as have always been inimicalto our state’s character,” Dar said.

Provincial spokesperson while flaying the PDP for betrayingpeople’s mandate said: “It is the PDP that opened flood gates for the BJP intothe state. Today the state is facing onslaught from communal forces. It is thePDP that provided them platform to fiddle with our institutions”.

Dar added that South Kashmir in particular bore the brunt ofthe PDP’s embrace of the BJP.

“Every household in south Kashmir is wailing the loss of itsloved ones, and every eye is in tears. The skyline of south Kashmir presents acharred look. Today youth are disenchanted. The sheer nepotism and corruptionhas dampened their hearts,” he said. “However with Omar Abdullah in thevanguard of the new government, we will make amends to the wrongs committed byBJP-PDP. We will embalm the hearts that are in pain, we will usher in an era ofdevelopment and prosperity.

Party’s candidate for Anantnag constituency HasnainMasoodi  also addressed the gathering andurged the people to rally round the flag of National Conference. DistrictPresident Kulgam Ab Majeed Bhat Larmi also spoke on the occasion.
