People struggling for essentials: Omar

National Conference Vice President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has urged the administration to urgently intervene and find balance between lockdown and essential supplies.

“Hearing from various parts of Srinagar, probably true forother parts of J&K as well. People are struggling to access essentialsupplies like vegetables, milk & medicines because of the way the lockdownis being enforced,” Omar tweeted Sunday evening.

   

“I would urge the administration to urgently intervene &find a balance between the necessary lockdown & the vital need to allowpeople to access essential supplies. @kansalrohit69 @listenshahid,”

NC President and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah onSunday released an additional amount of Rs 1.5 crore for Srinagar basedhospitals to combat COVID-19.

The amount will be equally distributed among three hospitalsin Srinagar — SMHS hospital, CD Hospital and GB Pant Hospital.

“Continuing our commitment to fight #COVID19, PartyPresident and MP Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah today released an additionalamount of Rs 1.5 crore to Srinagar based hospitals. The amount is to be equallydistributed among SMHS hospital, CD Hospital and G B Pant Hospital,” theNational Conference wrote on its official Twitter handle.

The Srinagar MP had on Saturday released an amount of Rs 1crore to combat COVID-19 threat in Jammu and Kashmir from his MPLAD (Members ofParliament Local Area Development Scheme) fund.”Out of Rs 1 crore, Rs 50lakh has been earmarked for SKIMS (Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of MedicalSciences) Srinagar and Rs 25 lakh each for Budgam and Ganderbaldistricts,” the party said in a release.”As per directions from partypresident Dr Farooq Abdullah, Anantnag MP Hasnain Masoodi has released Rs 1crore to combat the threat of COVID-19 in his constituency.
