In connection with the annual Durbar Move from Jammu to the summer capital, Police Headquarters and other move police offices resumed their functioning here on Monday.
A police spokesman said that the Director General of Police,Dilbag Singh reached Police Headquarters here this morning and he was receivedby senior police officers. He was presented ceremonial guard of honour by acontingent of armed Police.
Immediately the DGP chaired a meeting of senior policeofficers. The meeting was attended byADGP CID Dr B. Srinivas, ADGP (Coord) PHQ A K Choudhary, ADGP Armed SJMGillani, ADGP (Hqrs.) PHQ A G Mir, ADGP Security, Law & Order Muneer AhmedKhan, IGP (CIV) PHQ, Dr S D Singh Jamwal, IGP (Pers.) PHQ J P Singh, DirectorSSG Surinder Gupta, IGP Kashmir S P Pani, DIG (CKR) V K Birdi, AIGs of PHQ andother gazetted officers, the spokesman said.
He said that whilechairing the meeting the DGP conveyed that the state government hascomplimented J&K Police and other security forces for providing the bestpossible security environment in the state. Complementing the officers fortheir work during the past six months at Jammu the DGP said that lot needs tobe done in future.
He highlighted that the public grievance system in placeneeds to be further toned up. “We are expected to perform better by monitoringthe things on daily basis and to stay within deadlines,” the DGP said.
He said that forredressing the grievances of the people, officers must adopt a pro-activeapproach. He also impressed upon the officers to look into the genuinegrievance of the police personnel and the SPOs. He directed the officers tocomplete the plans in these regards within shortest possible time.
The DGP later on inspected different sections of theseoffices and interacted with the police personnel. He sought updates from theofficers and personnel on different tasks and also advised them to enhancetheir capacities for fast deliverance.
