Four months after authorities declared Baramulla police district free of militants, a picture of a youth from Hamray Pattan carrying AK 47 rifle has surfaced on the social media. The youth is reported to have joined militant organisation Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.
Junaid Farooq, alias Abu Talha, a resident of Hamray Pattanas per reports was missing since last few days. On Monday, picture of the youthwith assault rifle in his hand appeared on social media.
The Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla said they arelooking into the matter. “We are ascertaining the facts. Though picture of theyouth has gone viral, no missing report has been filed by the family” said SSPBaramulla, Abdul Qayoom.
After the killing of three LeT militants in Baramulla, the police in January this year had issued apress release declaring Baramulla police district free of militants.
