Piping ceremony of 40 officers, officials held at DPL Kulgam

Piping ceremony of the recently promoted 23 Senior Grade Constables as Head Constables, 16 Head Constables as Assistant Sub Inspectors and a Sub Inspector as an Inspector was held during a ceremonial function at District Police Lines Kulgam.

A statement of Police issued here said that the promoted officials and officers were decorated with their new ranks by SP Kulgam Gurinderpal Singh along with other senior officers who expressed happiness over their promotion.

   

It said that the SP Kulgam congratulated the promoted officials and advised them to remain committed towards their duties and ensure better public service.

The statement said that the promoted officials pledged to work with same zeal and enthusiasm that they had been working in the past.

“During the colourful ceremony, all the newly promoted officers and officials expressed their gratitude towards the Police department for conferring their next ranks and timely upgradation,” the Police statement said.

It said that Police in Kulgam also hosted a farewell function at District Police Lines Kulgam to bid adieu to the Sub Inspector Ghulam Hassan who superannuated from his active service.

The Police statement said that the SP Kulgam Gurinderpal Singh along with other officers and officials participated in the function.

It said that the relatives of the Sub-Inspector Ghulam Hassan also took part in the event.

The statement said that SP Kulgam while acknowledging the contribution of the outgoing Sub-Inspector conveyed his best wishes to the retiring officer and prayed for his good health and success post retirement.

It said that another farewell function was organised at Police Control Room Kashmir to give a warm send-off to Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital Srinagar, Dr Bilal Ahmad Raja on his superannuation.

The statement said that senior Police officers including IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, DIG Central Kashmir Range Amit Kumar and other officers were present on the occasion.

It said that the speakers lauded the role of Dr Raja and recounted his contribution from Medical Officer to Medical Superintendent of Police Hospital.

The Police statement said that they also recalled his major role in upgrading the Police Hospital in terms of infrastructure and medical facilities and making it at par with the best available hospitals.

It said his role during COVID 19 pandemic was also highly appreciated by the speakers who wished a happy and healthy post-retirement life to him.

The statement said that a similar farewell party was also organised on Sunday at the auditorium of J&K Police Hospital, Srinagar.

It said that the farewell was attended by senior officers, staff and colleagues from GMC Srinagar.

“The speakers, in general, lauded the contribution of Dr Raja during his more than 22 years of service which he professionally rendered in this hospital. His achievements will be very much there in the annals of Police organisation,” the statement said.

The Police statement said that Dr Khalid Parvez assumed charge as Medical Superintendent of the J&K Police Hospital, Srinagar.

It said that Dr Parvez in his speech congratulated Dr Raja on attaining superannuation and wished him a successful and healthy post-retirement life.

“Dr Raja has set a legacy of high standards and it is obligatory for the successors to maintain these,” Dr Parvez said in the statement.
