Sindh forest division of Ganderbal district Monday organised a plantation and awareness drive in the Preng area in collaboration with HELP Foundation.
A special feature of the drive was participation by a numberof visually impaired students in care of the non-governmental organisation HELPwho planted deodar saplings.
Students of government high school and middle school ofPreng also participated in the drive which saw enthusiastic participation byteachers, members of media, police personnel from Gutlibagh and forestofficials.
Around 300 saplings were planted in the blank area ofCompartment number 37 of Preng Forest beat.
On the occasion, DFO Sindh division Ganderbal Owais Miremphasised the theme of International Day of Forests “Forests andEducation”.
