Police in Anantnag arrested a bootlegger during a naka checking at Check post Verinag and recovered illicit liquor from his possession, said a spokesman.
He said a police party intercepted a suspected person during a naka checking at Check post Verinag.
During search, bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of Sadiq Shaksaaz son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Verinag, he said.
Police has registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated investigations in the matter, he added.
