Police constable missing with service rifle in central Kashmir

A constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police has gone missing along with his service rifle from police post pakherpora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Reports said that constable Tariq Bhat (belt number 1151), son of Mohammad Abdullah Bhat of Khasipora Shopian, went missing soon after he started his night shift in the sentry post around 9 pm.

   

“He is believed to have fled away with an AK-47 rifle along with the ammunition as he was not found inside the post,” reports quoted a police officer.

SSP Budgam Tejinder Singh has confirmed that the cop was missing along with his rifle. “We are ascertaining the incident and investigation has been launched,” he said.
