Police today said it cracked a theft case by recovering stolen items including gold ornaments and cash.
In a statement, police spokesperson said police stationHarwan received a complaint from Showkat Ahmad Jan resident of Aarbal Shalimarstating therein that on 13 February he along with his family locked his houseand went to Delhi.
“He stated that on his return, he found his housetrespassed besides golden ornaments and cash which were kept inside a lockerwere missing. Accordingly, a case FIR number 8/2019 under relevant sections oflaw was registered and investigation was initiated,” the statement said.
The statement said investigating the case, officers from thepolice station visited the scene of crime. “During further course of investigation,the investigating team questioned one suspect who was working as domestic helpin the house few months before. During questioning they learnt about hisinvolvement in the case.”
