Police traces 6 missing students of SKUAST

Police traced six students of SK University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology Kashmir (SKUAST) who were reported missing since 14 August. The police said the students had gone on a trekking trip.

The students had left the university hostel on August 14 without seeking permission, an official said.

   

SSP Ganderbal, Muhammad Khalil Poswal said the university authorities had lodged a report on 15 August saying that six students had left the hostel on 14 August without prior permission. He said a team headed by SHO Ganderbal Nisar Ahmed Hurra was constituted for the purpose. “The team with the help of some guides and pony owners traced all the six boys to Gangbal area of the district and brought them back,” he said.

The boys, he said, were handed over to the university authorities and their families. He said upon questioning the students had revealed that they had gone on a trekking trip to Gangabal lake in Ganderbal district.
