Policeman injured in Khanyar airlifted to AIIMS

Selection Grade Constable, Mohammad Illiyas Khan who was injured critically in a militant attack in Khanyar here, was Friday airlifted to AIIMS for treatment, news agency GNS quoted officials as saying.

Khan received a critical gunshot wound in the head on theevening of May 1 after suspected militants opened fire upon him near hisresidence at Aqilmir Khanyar, Srinagar.

   

Khan was immediately shifted to SMHS hospital from where hewas later referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment.

At SKIMS, doctors performed surgery upon the injured cop andwas later put on the ventilator.

“Khan was airlifted to the All India Institute ofMedical Sciences (AIIMS) for further treatment today afternoon,” officialsources said.A police officer while confirming it said thatthe seriously injured officer along with his family was airlifted to AIIMSDelhi through an air ambulance arranged by the department.
