Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokeswoman, Darakhshan Andrabi Sunday said BJP had reached every nook and corner of Kashmir soon after the power of the “political dynasty” vanished.
A statement of BJP issued here said that while presiding over BJP’s training programme for organisational cadres of Kulgam district, Andrabi said the “political dynasty” had a history of “murdering democracy” and spreading hatred and stopping their political opponents from reaching out to the people.
“BJP is different from National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party and Congress because we believe in equitable peace, progress and development of all sections of the society and they believe in regional, ethnic, linguistic and religious divisions in society,” she said in the statement. “BJP only believes in peace and progress while the Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration believes in dynastic empowerment and development of their kith and kin only.”
The BJP statement quoted her as praising the Government of India and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s administration for opening new avenues for job creation, and economic and industrial development amid peace in Kashmir.
“We are experiencing a peaceful atmosphere in Kashmir after decades of disturbances and violence. Transparency and accountability is being enforced in the public system here for the first time. We are at the threshold of a very peaceful and progressive J&K,” she said in the statement. “I appeal the BJP representatives to devote themselves to the service of the people who have been exploited by the previous political dispensations for decades.”
