Power woes in Ramadan: Rafi Mir seeks Governor’s intervention

PDP’s chief spokesperson Rafi Ahmad Mir has urged the Governor Satya Pal Malik to respond to the massive power crisis and ensure uninterrupted power supply in south Kashmir.

In a statement Mir said, “Parts of south Kashmir are reelingunder continued darkness in the holy month of Ramadan.”

   

He urged the Governor’s administration to rise up to theoccasion and ensure adequate uninterrupted power supply to the people.  “The dispute between the state government andthe NTPC should be resolved and continued power supply should be ensured,” Miradded.The statement said that various delegations metMir in Khanabal and presented a memorandum of demand seeking uninterruptedpower supply in south Kashmir. “Daily load shedding and frequent powercuts are unwarranted and have resulted in difficulty for the people inobserving the holy month of Ramadan, most of the time there is no electricityat the time of Sehri and Iftaar”, Mir said.
