Practice of Yoga inculcates habit of balanced life: Advisor Kumar

Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homeopathy Ayush, J&K organised functions across all district headquarters of the state to observe the 5th international Yoga Day.  

The main function was held at Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor SportsStadium Complex here. Governor’s Advisor, K Vijay Kumar was the chief guest onthe occasion. Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, Javaid NaseemChoudhary, District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Shahid IqbalChoudhary, Director ISM&H, Phuntsong Angchuk, Additional Secretary Healthand SSP Srinagar were also present on the occasion.

   

In his address, the Advisor highlighted the benefits andimportance of the day and also stressed upon the participants to involve Yogain their day to day life to remain healthy and fit. He said practice of Yogainculcates habit of balanced life.

On the occasion, Yoga experts also taught concentrationtechniques by way of meditation for a relaxed and stressed free mind.

Earlier, Director ISM&H welcomed the guest andparticipants and highlighted the importance of Yoga in day to day life. NodalOfficer Yoga, Dr Iftikhar Qazi also made a brief speech about the benefits inlight of Ayush.

Among others, District Ayush Officer Srinagar, MedicalOfficers, Paramedical staff of district Srinagar, ISM staff and a large numberof players from different sports and educational institutions including,Taekwondo, Wushu, Boxing, Badminton, Basket Ball, Judo, Weightlifting, Fencing,Sports Council, CRPF 17th Bn and Scouts & Guides Kashmir also participatedin Yoga event.
