Pro-freedom camp grieved at demise of Geelani’s son-in-law

Various pro-resistance leaders and parties have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of the Ghulam Muhammad Makhdoomi, son-in-law of Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani, describing the deceased as noble soul. 

Expressing grief over the demise, the Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed his heartfelt condolences, solidarity and sympathy with the Makhdoomi and Geelani families and prayed for the highest standards in Janah for the deceased. 

   

“Mirwaiz expressed solidarity with Syed Ali Geelani, who remains confined to his Hydepora residence for the past many years. Mirwaiz prayed to Almighty to help Geelani and Makhdoomi families to bear this loss,” a Hurriyat (M) spokesman said in a statement.

Meanwhile, on the directions of Mirwaiz Umar,  Awami Action Committee (AAC) general secretary  Ghulam Nabi Zaki led a high  level delegation and participated in the namaz- e- jinazah of the deceased at Dooru, Sopore and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and conveyed the condolence message of Mirwaiz to the family members. 

Mirwaiz spoke to the father of deceased Ghulam Hassan Makhdoomi over phone and expressed condolence and sympathy with the bereaved family.

Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin, while condoling the demise, termed it a huge loss for his family and well-wishers.

“Yasin Sahib along with several other Front leaders traveled to Duroo, Sopore, and participated in the funeral prayers of late Ghulam Hassan Makhdoom,” a JKLF spokesman said in a statement.

 The JKLF chairman, he said, met the bereaved family and expressed condolences to them. He also expressed solidarity with veteran leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani .

Hurriyat Conference (G) leaders, while expressing grief and sorrow over the demise, prayed for the deceased.

A delegation of Hurriyat (G) leaders and activists led by general secretary   Haji Ghulam Nabi Sumji, visited the bereaved family in Sopore and expressed solidarity with them and prayed for peace to the departed soul and forbearance of the bereaved family, a spokesman of the conglomerate said in a statement.    

Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, while condoling the demise, described the deceased a noble soul and a kind person. 

Sehrai along with other TeH leaders participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased and met the bereaved family. 

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir expressed deep sympathy and condolences with the bereaved family and Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani. 

In a statement here a Jamaa’t spokesman said that a team of Jama’at comprising of Faheem Muhammad Ramzan (secretary-general) and Nazir Ahmad Raina (guidance bureau chief) accompanied by the local leadership went to Dooru Sopore and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. 

Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) expressed deep shock over the demise.  “A party delegation led by its secretary general Moulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari visited Sopore to express solidarity with the bereaved,” a DFP spokesman said. 

Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Srinagar in a meeting held here today, under the president ship of advocate  M A Qayoom expressed their grief and sorrow over the sad demise and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. 

In a statement here a HCBA spokesman said the Bar members also offered Fateh and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest his soul in peace and give courage and fortitude to the members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss. 

A delegation of the Bar Association headed by its president went to Dooru and participated in the Nimaz-i-Jinah of the deceased, the spokesman added. 

Vice-chairman of Jammu Kashmir National Front (NF) Altaf Hussain Wani condoled the demise and prayed for peace to the deceased soul. He also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for their patience, a NF spokesman said in a statement.  

Islamic Political Party (IPP) chairman Muhammad Yusuf Naqash, while expressing grief and sorrow over the demise, prayed for the deceased and forbearance of the bereaved family, an IPP spokesman said.  

Naqash also visited the bereaved family in Sopore and expressed solidarity with them 

Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (H) chairman Javaid Ahmad Mir, while mourning the demise, prayed for the deceased and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.   

The human rights activist Muhammad Ahsan  Untoo expressed deep sorrow over the demise. He visited Duroo, Sopre, and participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased.
