Lamenting the growing trend of “targeted assassinations”, PDP youth president Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra today expressed serious concern over the sliding trend which has had serious ramifications for the overall peace in the Valley.
“If we look at past few months, the trend of target killing is on rise. It can have serious repercussions if not looked into seriously,” Parra said in a statement.
While demanding swift and judicious probe into the recent killing of Zahoor in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district , Parra said, “Such unabated violence will rupture the social fabric of the state and therefore should be condemned unequivocally by every section of the society.”
He further added that, “people don’t feel safe and it becomes dubious when there comes name of “unknown gunmen” after civilian killings. Administration should take serious note of the matter and make all details public to win over the faith of the people,” Parra said and demanded speedy justice into the killing.
He expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
