The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of officers to review the pace and progress of felling of female Russian Popular trees in the district.
Threadbare discussion held in the meeting with regard to thefelling of female Russian Popular trees across the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy CommissionerKupwara and Handwara, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SDM Lolab & Karnah,DFO Social Forestry Kupwara, Tehsildars and other concerned.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner said that the treeswhich have been uprooted should be dumped at suitable places.
DC said that the fair auction shall be conducted for thetrees found in the premises of government offices and the money shall be usedfor repairing and renovation of the office.
DC directed the concerned for expediting the identificationof Russian Popular trees in Kascharie and state-land. He also said that CEOshall ensure the felling of Russian Popular trees in premises of governmentinstitutions and schools.
DC also said that the constituted committee will ensure theRussian Popular trees identified in paddy field or at any other place where therisk of impairing is high should be rooted off by the team of professionals.
