Pugwash conference ends on positive note

Islamabad, June 4: The 2-day Pugwash conference ended here on Friday with participants stressing on the need to carry forward the track-II talks between India and Pakistan for the final resolution of the Kashmir issue.
 The secretary of Pugwash, Paulo Quoto, said that recommendations of conference would be submitted to government of India and Pakistan.
 “The conference was successful. We will also inform America, Britain and other global powers about the recommendations of the conference,” he said.
 The former Vice-Chancellor of University of Jammu, Prof Amitabh Matto, said that participants discussed Kashmir and water dispute between both countries.
 The former ambassador of Pakistan to India Aziz Ahmed Khan said that Indian participants emphasized on terrorism being the main issue, “While our side made it clear that Kashmir is the core issue,” Khan added.
