Pulwama observes shutdown

Pulwama town in south Kashmir observed shutdown on Monday to mourn the killing of four militants in an encounter with the security forces in Shopian on Sunday.

All shops, other business establishments and educationalremained shut while traffic was sparse on the roads.

   

A witness said that young men poured into streets in Pulwamatown and threw stones on SF personnel near police station in main town Pulwama.”Security forces retaliated with teargas shells and pellets,” the witness said.

An official at district hospital Pulwama said that theyreceived few persons with pellet injuries at the facility.
