Rafi Mir calls on LG, submits memorandum of public demands

Former MLA and General Secretary Apni Party Rafi Ahmad Mir Thursday called on the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha and presented a memorandum of public demands.

According to a statement, Mir discussed with the Lt Governor about various issues pertaining to youth welfare. Mir urged the Lt. Governor to provide impetus to sports by upgrading the sports infrastructure in Kashmir valley and providing logistical support to the young aspiring sportsmen. He urged LG to establish infrastructure facilities in district headquarters. “Providing suitable financial assistance and training to sportspersons can enable them to participate successfully in National and International competitions” the memorandum read.

   

He also informed the Lt. Governor about problems faced by youth due to delay in recruitment to vacant posts. He also raised the issue of fruit-laden trucks being needlessly stopped on the highway.  During the meeting, Mir also sought clearance of pending scholarships to students by the Tribal Affairs Department.
