Army of Friday said that Rafiabad Army camp distributed stationery and sweets amongst the children of Gulshan-E-Atfal Orphanage, Ganapura on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In a statement herean Army spokesman said, “the event was aimed to motivate young children toachieve their dreams in life. A lectureabout importance of education and learning skills was also conducted by theArmy. A total of 33 students, 5 teachers and 12 civilians attended theprogramme.”
Meanwhile, thespokesman said the Army camps across theValley celebrated the Eid-ul-Fitr with the locals and spread the message ofpeace and tranquillity. “The occasion of joy and sharing the gratitude wascelebrated by conveying good wishes and distributing of Eidi to children andlocals that symbolises this festival as a continuum of the spirituallyenriching message of Ramadan,” the spokesman said.
He said, “thejoyousness of Eid is not an end in itself, but is a path that shows the wayforward towards the pursuit of self-awareness and gratitude for the privilegesone has. The knowledge one has is not just for the betterment of oneself, butalso for the betterment of our society, family, friends and community atlarge.”
