RAPE OF 3-YEAR OLD BANDIPORA GIRL|Ensure strict punishment to minor perpetrators: PDP tells Govt

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader Mohammad Sartaj Madni on Tuesday strongly suggested that in rape cases the minor perpetrators should be given no relaxation in punishment.

Madni in a statement said that Bandipora incident, where athree-year old girl was allegedly raped, has shocked the entire nation and suchgruesome incident presses for introspection.

   

He demanded that a law should be enacted in J&K whichprovides stern punishment even if the perpetrator is a minor.

He demanded that the investigation in the Bandipora caseshould be expedited. 

Last week, a three year old girl in Bandipora district wasallegedly raped by her neighbour, who was later arrested by the police.

Police has constituted a SIT to investigate the matter.

Meanwhile, PDP senior leader and former legislator NoorMohammad Sheikh Tuesday appealed to people to maintain calm and not to fallprey to the “nefarious designs of the divisive elements”.

Terming the Bandipora incident as most brutal and inhumanact, he demanded exemplary punishment to the culprit.
