Republic Day in Kashmir

A march past was presented by J&K Police, CRPF, JKAP, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC cadets and students of various schools.

The 66th Republic Day was celebrated across the Kashmir with District Development Commissioners of the respective districts unfurling the tricolor as no political government is presently in place in the state.

BARAMULLA  

Republic Day was celebrated at district headquarters, Baramulla where Deputy Commissioner, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone was the chief guest who unfurled the tricolor and took salute at the march past. Contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force and school children participated in the march past.

DIG, NKR, Ghulam Hassan Bhat and SSP Baramulla, officers of police and civil administration were present on the occasion.

Republic Day celebrations were also held at both Sub-Divisions and Tehsil headquarters in the district. At Sopore, SDM Sopore, Khurshid Ahmad Shah hoisted tricolor, and took salute at the march-past. 

At Uri, SDM Uri, Sheikh Abdul Aziz hoisted the tricolor and took salute at the march-past. The Republic Day was also celebrated at Tangmarg where tehsildar concerned hoisted the National Flag.

ANANTNAG 

In Anantnag Deputy Commissioner Tasaduq Jeelani hoisted the tricolor and took salute at the march past.

A march past was presented by J&K Police, CRPF, JKAP, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC cadets and students of various schools. 

At Pahalgam, the tricolor was unfurled by Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Muhammad Aslam who took salute at the march past on the occasion.

KULGAM

At Kulgam Deputy Commissioner, Nissar Hussain Wani unfurled the tricolor and took salute at the march past.

March past was held by contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, JKAP, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC Cadets and students of various schools.          

BUDGAM

At Budgam Deputy Commissioner, Manzoor Ahmad Lone unfurled the tricolor and took salute at the march past. Contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force and school children participated in the march past. Colorful cultural programmes were also presented on the occasion.

PULWAMA

At Pulwama Deputy Commissioner, Sajad Ahmad Khan unfurled the tricolor and took salute at the march past. Contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force and school children participated in the march past.

SHOPIAN

The Republic Day was celebrated at the district headquarters with Deputy Commissioner, Bashir Ahmad Bhat unfurling the tricolor at Fruit Mandi and took salute at the march past by contingents of District Police, CRPF, IRP, JKAP, Fire and Emergency Services, Home Guard, NCC and students of various schools of the district.

The DC also distributed prizes among the best cadets and students for presenting colorful cultural programmes.   

BANDIPORA

The Republic Day was celebrated at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Bandipora where Deputy Commissioner, Dr Shah Faisal was the chief guest who hoisted the tricolor and took salute at the march past. Contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force and School children participated in the march past.

Officers of Police and Civil administration were present on the occasion.

KUPWARA

The main function was held at District Police Lines Kupwara where Deputy Commissioner Itrat Hussain Rafique unfurled the tricolor and took salute. Contingents of CRPF, IRP, JKAP, JKP, Forest Protection Force and school children participated in the march past.

GANDERBAL

Deputy Commissioner, Sarmad Hafeez unfurled the tricolor at Ganderbal and took salute at the march past. The contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force and School children participated in the march past.

Cultural program was also presented by students of various schools.

KARGIL

The Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Haji Asgar Ali Karbalaie hoisted the tricolor at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Biamathang and took salute at the march past comprising contingents of J&K Police, NCC, Army, Civil Band Party and students of government and private schools. 

Thousands of people from the adjoining villages of Kargil had gathered at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Biamathang to watch the parade. 

LEH

The main function was held at Polo Ground Leh where the Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Leh, Rigzin Spalbar unfurled the tricolor and took salute at the march past in which contingents of J&K Police, J&K Armed Police, Para-military, NCC and school children participated.
