Restore confidence of people: G A Mir urges Centre

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president, G A Mir, Wednesday urged the central government to restore confidence of the people of Jammu and Kashmir by changing their policy towards the state.

“People are feeling alienated due to the wrong policiesadopted by the central government in the state,” Mir claimed while addressing aseries of public meetings at Manzmoh, Dongwari, Shistergam and Dalwach in SouthKashmir’s Dooru.

   

He said, “The Centre must put an end to rumour mongeringwith regard to the state’s special status. Any misadventure would deterioratethe situation.”

The JKPCC president alleged, “Since Bharatiya Janata Partycame into power, the situation has remained chaotic in the state. Besides,development has not taken place, as was promised.”

Claiming that the Congress party has always taken care ofthe aspirations of people, Mir said that any discrimination will not betolerated.

He also urged the Governor’s administration to redress theissues of the people of Verinag.
