,The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has questioned the move of the Government of withdrawing security cover of party leaders and sought explanation from the Government.
In a statement Mir hit out at both Central and State Governments for withdrawing security of Congress party leaders. “The move amounts to restricting the movement of Congress leaders in the upcoming elections, which is not only serious, but highly condemnable.”
While lodging a strong protest Mir said it has also been reported that security cover of other party functionaries and seniors’ leaders of party was being removed for unknown reasons. “The lives of Congress leaders are being put to risk but the Congress Party will not be cowed down by such pressure tactics,” Mir said.
“God ford if any untowardthing will happen to any Congress leader, then the State government, especiallythe security agencies will be solely responsible,” he added.
