Panun Kashmir president Vijay Bhat in a statement today said, “By saying that Kashmiri Pandits have suffered less and Muslims more in Kashmir is not only unfortunate but falsification of the reality.”

Kashmir Pandit body, Panun Kashmir has expressed concern over the statement of film actor Rahul Bhat alleging that Bhat had ‘trivialized suffering of the Pandit community’ while shooting for his film ‘Fitoor’ in Kashmir.

Panun Kashmir president Vijay Bhat in a statement today said, “By saying that Kashmiri Pandits have suffered less and Muslims more in Kashmir is not only unfortunate but falsification of the reality.”

“Kashmiri Pandits are not victims of natural calamities like earthquakes, floods and snow storms but of manmade calamity of communalism that subjected the community to holocaust and genocide in 1989-90,” Vijay Bhat said, adding that “His statement that Pandits are well settled outside and to settle them in Kashmir and return to their roots is futile exercise, is far from the practical reality.” “If Pandits are well settled outside, why they are living in rented accommodations and refugee settlements in Jammu and other parts of the country,” Vijay further said.
