Revoke termination order of employees appointed under SRO 24: JKPM

Jammu Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) on Saturday condemned termination of technical employees appointed under SRO 24 and demanded revocation of the order.

In a statement, the party Vice President, Syed Iqbal Tahirstated by virtue of the notification dated 10 January 2019, the government ofJ&K issued J&K Medical and Dental Education (Appointment on AcademicArrangement Basis) Rules 2019.  “Asper the SRO large number of staff nurses, OT Technicians, and other technicalemployees were appointed in the medical, dental and paramedical colleges acrossthe state,” Tahir said and added that such employees provided theirservices for one year.

   

He said the SRO provides an extension of the employment upto a period of six years. “At a time when the state is suffering from thecoronavirus pandemic, it is ironic rather than the government utilizing theservices of such employees unfortunately decided to terminate theirservices,” said Tahir.

Questioning the administration, Tahir said post August 2019,the government has been claiming to open new avenues of employment for theyouth of J&K. but, he said, contrary to that the youth of J&K werebeing deprived of whatever little jobs that they have.

The JKPM leader appealed the government to grant extensionin the employment of the employees at the earliest.
