A Sarpanch and a runner up of a District Development Council (DDC) constituency along with their supporters joined Peoples Conference (PC) on Sunday.
A statement of PC issued here said that welcoming Dardpora C Sarpanch Mir Javid and first runner up from Reddi Chowkibal DDC constituency into the party fold, PC Chairman Sajad Lone expressed hope that their inclusion would further strengthen the party reach out to the people of district Kupwara, serve them with utmost responsibility and work for their betterment to the best possible extent.
The statement said that speaking on the occasion, Mir Javid expressed his joy on joining PC and pledged to work for serving the people as per the policies of the party.
“Personally, today is an extremely happy and memorable day for me. PC has been a pioneer in implementing people-friendly programmes aimed at improving the conditions of the people, especially those living in remote and backward areas of Kupwara district,” the PC statement quoted him as saying.
