School buses parked in congested lanes

R&B blocks Kralpora-Wanabal link road

We the residents of Kralpora-Wanabal link road have been left high and dry due to the lackadaisical attitude of the Road and Buildings department. Nearly ten days ago the department dumped material for repairing the link road and after that contractor disappeared. Our repeated pleas to get the material cleared have fallen flat on deaf ears as the top officials are not paying any attention. The link road is already in a dilapidated condition and material being dumped has made the situation worse.

School buses parked in congested lanes

I wanted to draw the attention of the authorities about the school buses which are parked on the roadside during night. These long buses are parked on small link roads, lanes and on the roads, which are already congested. This has become a nuisance.

Recently I was reversing my car out of my courtyard a school bus  which was parked just opposite to my gate blocked my view and I almost hit a two wheeler. The rider had a narrow escape.

My question to school authorities is why do they allow drivers to take the buses to their homes and never ask them to park these at proper parking places. What if there is an accident due to the school bus parked at a very wrong place? Who will be responsible?

The phone numbers mentioned on the school buses never work perhaps they are just to dodge the local public.  School authorities should ensure that after the buses drop the students these should be parked in the school premises to avoid inconvenience to the people.

Rotten poplar trees dangerous

Rotten poplar trees on Srinagar-Baramulla road pose threat to the lives of commuters as these have become hollow and a slight wind leads to them falling down. One week ago  a heavy wind storm hit the Valley I was travelling through that road. I stopped my vehicle many times at safe places as rotten poplar trees were about to fall. Despite strict instructions being issued to chop of these rotten poplar trees nothing has been done. It seems authorities are waiting for a big tragedy to occur.

Decongest Sopore town

For the past ten years we are being told that authorities are planning to shift the General Bus Stand Sopore  for the convenience of the people.

Till date no such action has been taken resulting the acute traffic jams and accidental deaths in the town. Recently some activities were seen to identify the land at Model Town Sopore which lasted for some days and after that nothing happened.

The political dispensations have been just making claims this time around we hope that the Governor N N Vohra would take the cognizance of the matter and would shift the General Bus Stand from the town to decongest the area.
